Mike Tenango is a Southern California born and bred Latino writer based in LA. Being half Latino/half all-sorts-of-white, he finds that writing coming-of-age stories with a hefty dose of sci-fi and fantasy thrown in is the best way for him to explore the “one foot in both worlds” aspect of being mixed. He loves to write stories centered around identity that ask questions like “what makes you you?” and is a sucker for a reluctant protagonist who pushes past internal imposter syndrome (hmm, wonder why).

In addition to writing, Mike is also a burgeoning director who has directed everything from docustyle profile pieces to political commercials to hilarious short form comedy. He is currently the Creative Director at mitú where he gets to tell Latine stories that matter.

He is also hard at work (or at least he should be) writing a comic book to launch on Kickstarter very soon. He runs a weekly D&D session to fill the creative void and also enjoys pop music, comic books, and spending as much time as possible with his incredible wife and awesome kiddos.

He also hates writing in the third person.
